Presentation

There are 2 stages to discovering the Carnac megalith site:

  • The House of Megaliths:

A reception and interpretation centre, the Maison des megalithes invites you to discover the site and megalithism in a whole new way. Exhibitions, videos and interactive media provide answers to the 4 key questions: who, when, how and why. The Maison des megalithes is the gateway to the Alignments, where you'll also find a ticket office and bookshop.

  • The Alignments :

The standing stones of Carnac stretch over a length of 4km in 4 distinct groups: Le Ménec, Kermario, Le Manio and Kerlescan.

The "Neolithic Builders" lecture tour:

In French or in a foreign language, the lecture tour provides an in-depth look at the Alignments and their history. The tour takes you to the heart of one of the sites, accompanied by one of our guides and lecturers, and lasts 1 hour.

Practical information

Group visits to the Alignments :

  • Booking essential
  • Except in exceptional circumstances, the lecturer's service is valid for a group of no more than 50 people. For groups of 50 or more, a second tour guide is required.
  • A supplement of €50 may apply for certain languages.
  • Please respect the visit schedule. In the event of a long delay, the visit will not be guaranteed. Payment remains due. Remember to let the monument know!
  • Dress appropriately: closed shoes all year round, seasonal clothing, hats and sun cream.
  • Pushchairs are not recommended (the ground is not passable and the flora is fragile).
