Opening times

THE HOUSE OF MEGALITHS (MAISON DES MEGALITHES) :
 

1 April to 30 June 9.30am- 6pm

1 July to 31 August 9.30am- 7pm

1st to 30th September 9.30am- 6pm

1 October to 31 March10am- 1pm 2pm - 5pm

The Maison des Mégalithes is closed on 1 January, 1 May and 25 December.

For information on the timetable for guided tours of the alignments, book online or purchase at the Maison des Mégalithes ticket office.

Free access to the footpath around the sites.

Some sites are open to the public from October to the end of March.

The ticket gives you access to a guided tour of one of the main sites.

Currently until 30 June, visits at 11am and 3pm in French

How to get there

BY CAR

From Auray: direction Carnac - Quiberon - dept. 768 to the Purgatoire roundabout then take dept. 119 direction Carnac

For the Maison des megalithes, follow Alignements du Ménec.

One-way traffic. Lane shared by vehicles, pedestrians and bicycles.

BY TRAIN

Auray station then bus to Carnac

Carnac bus service provided by the town council during the high season: Zenbus

Services and visiting conditions

  • Closed shoes are recommended for visiting the alignments
  • Dogs on leads are allowed on the paths around the alignments
  • Dogs are not allowed on guided tours or in the reception building.
  • Pushchairs are not recommended on the sites (ground not passable).
  • Drinks vending machine at the Maison des megalithes.
  • Ice-cream parlour during the summer season (on the roof terrace or forecourt).
  • Car park at the Maison des megalithes - reserved for visitors
  • In case of overcrowding, another car park is indicated at the entrance to Carnac (arriving from Auray).
  • Campervans, head for: parking des alignements (Kerabus)
  • Smoking banned on the entire site, both inside and outside the monument Pursuant to decree no. 2025-582 of 27 June 2025 on smoke-free areas, outdoor public places where children and teenagers may be present or exposed, in particular public parks and gardens, become smoke-free areas.
