Couleurs de Bretagne

The Alignements of Carnac attracted and inspired painters and artists for the first day of the "Colours of Brittany" competition: discover a selection of works created on this occasion!

The project

The Couleurs de Bretagne association was set up in 1994 and has been working to promote Brittany's heritage by organising painting competitions open to all ages for almost 30 years.Amateur artists come to paint a work over the course of a day (oil, watercolour, pastel, pencil, chalk, charcoal, pen, ink, collage, etc.), and at the end of the day 17 prizes are awarded, from the 0-3 years category, to the adult category and regional prizes.60 people on average take part over the course of a day. On average, 60 people take part over the course of a day, sometimes fewer, and a maximum of 80 to 100 artists. The painters are autonomous and move around the town or the site (in our case) as they wish, finding their own point of view.

The aims of this event are:to promote the site of the alignments, to bring in local people, to give local people another opportunity to reclaim their heritage, to give visibility to the talent of these artists, and finally to offer our first-time visitors an original and participative event.
